Q: Do I have to take the CPR course and First Aid Training?
A. No. The CPR & First Aid Training are optional programs we offer. They are not a requirement of the non emergency medical transport safety training program.

Q: If I took training somewhere else does that count?
A. Only if the presenting agency is an approved training provider for the State of Illinois, and is listed as such with the Healthcare and Family Services Department.

Q: Why does the safety training program take (16) sixteen hours to complete?
A. Our program basically covers the entire spectrum of non emergency medical transport operation. Students are guided through a work book manual that is supported by video demonstrations. Students then participate in a vehicle driver operation safety presentation.
The final portion of the program combines three (3) hands on clinical stations.

• Disability assistive devices introduction
• Vehicle equipment operations
